R25 Event Creation Form, Now with Web Services
On March 12, 2010 I will (be giving)/(have given) a presentation on some work I did with R25 using web services.
The presentations title is ‘Using Web Services to Create Events.’
This presentation will start with a high level overview of what web services is, followed by a brief overview of what is needed to create a new event, or room reservation in R25 using it. Some topics that we may cover are: authentication and security with webservices, custom event queries, and event creation in work flow. We will go in depth on the topics that people are interested in. Alive demo of our application will be available.
The actual application is behind a login, so you can’t use it. However you can see a screen cast of it, download the code, or view the presentation. The code will need a little tweaking to work with another system, as well as it is slightly out of date compared to what we are using in production now. We have implemented a bunch of web service caching, and a new authentication method that integrates with our CMS. Drop a comment on the post if you are interested in getting a more recent copy.
