miisactivate.exe file loaction.

Recently we had our MIIS server renamed, when the server became a dedicated server.  Little did I know that this would prevent the service from starting on the computer.  The error in the event log on the server indicated that I needed to run the miisactivate.exe file in order to fix this issue.  I found this article on how to use miisactivate.exe.

While the article was useful, I had a little trouble finding the actual EXE file.  The technet article on Microsoft’s site says usage of this file is available in the MIIS 2003 Developer Reference, however no amount of searching through the Developer Reference would reveal where the file was.

Ultimately I found the file in this folder:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Identity Integration Server\Bin

This is the default installation directory, so you may need to adjust the folder path.

Hello I renamed the server where ILM is running and gave me the same error. After I found you post I used the instructions on the link How To Use Miisactivate (miisactivate keyset.bin svcaccount *) but I get an error message : “the operation encountered and error and cannot be completed. Error: Could not find ‘keyset.bin’.
    Error Code: 80070002”
what should the filename of the key be?

    Thanks

    Manu
